Would you like to spend some time

  • Helping on our Open Days?
  • Working in an 18th century walled garden, bringing on organic produce and flowers?
  • Looking after readers in our Library Reading Rooms?
  • Helping to run group tours and learning more about the house and estate?

There are many ways you can help us at Chawton House by giving us some of your time, expertise and enthusiasm.

We have a team of dedicated volunteers who help us to maintain the garden and parkland, show people around the house, invigilate in the reading rooms and conserve the books.

Volunteers make a tremendous contribution to Chawton House, enabling us to reach many more people, as well as increasing their own learning and having some fun.

If you would like to know more about how you can help Chawton House, please call us on 01420 541010, or . We'd be delighted to hear from you.
